The happiness of the Christmas tree, which you begin to build with angelic behavior and titanic diligence - not without setbacks, alas, threatening the collapse of the entire sparkling edifice!

The happiness of decorations, made with your own hands from carefully collected pharmaceutical jars and candy wrappers, scraps and pictures, eggshells and matchboxes stored under the bed in a big cardboard box, cones and bunches of dry rowan collected in the forest - each toy is an invention, a materialized idea... Colored paper brought by dad, scissors, flour paste cooked in a tin, a cardboard "palette" with matte watercolor buttons, wire, a spool of thread... To reach these riches, the source of future Christmas tree treasures, to have the right to wholeheartedly invent, cut, glue, paint, you need to properly, conscientiously - and quickly! - cope with all the daily tasks and responsibilities. And then - here is your deserved edge of the table, your deserved - alongside adults - leisure, the deserved miracle of the holiday created and brought closer by you.

Probably, they were terrible, my clumsy cardboard tigers in convict stripes, ragged Grandfathers Frost, crooked stars, match angels, eggshell clowns, mills and sleds made from boxes; probably, the poppers were clumsy, and the paper chains worthy of Bonnivard - but what factory-made toys with their impeccable form and standard gloss can compare with children's homemade ones, in which so much soul has been invested, so much effort and - creative enthusiasm! Only the stars of the sky are akin to them!
