The New Year and Yuletide are just around the corner, which means it's the perfect time for fortune-telling, maiden rituals, and evening gatherings. We invite you to come together and talk about: 🕯Traditional Russian and Slavic fortune-telling; 🕯Who, when, where, and about what one could predict; 🕯And what the consequences might be if rules are not followed. In the interactive part, you and the host will try some 'safe' and beautiful fortune-telling, learn an old fortune-telling song (and find out why this song was called "podbludnaya"). As for 'dangerous' fortune-telling, you'll discuss it, and then it’s up to you - forewarned is forearmed! The meeting is conducted by: Irina Vedernikova (Marta) - an amateur ethnographer, who has been engaged in the ethnography of Central Russia for 15 years, collaborates with museums, organizes ethno-direction at conventions, and is the author of the Telegram channel "From Marta ABOUT ETH(N)O". After moving, she became interested in Serbian ethnography and translates books on Balkan ethnography.
