Izložba predstavlja završni doktorski umetnički projekat autorke koji putem grafike i video rada istražuje arhetipski motiv ujedinjenja suprotnosti kroz prizmu alhemijske i jungijanske simbolike. Prateći video rad gradi višeslojni narativ kroz dinamiku crno-bele i kolor slike, ritmičku montažu i zvučnu kompoziciju.Višemedijski rad Sretenovićeve funkcioniše kao savremeni vizuelno-zvučni ritual, stvarajući novu, savremenu interpretaciju univerzalnog simbola – coniuctio oppositorum, i istovremeno afirmiše interdisciplinarni pristup u savremenoj umetničkoj praksi.
The exhibition represents the author's final doctoral artistic project, which explores the archetypal motif of the unification of opposites through the prism of alchemical and Jungian symbolism through graphics and video work. Relying on Jung's idea of reconciliation/integration of opposing archetypal principles (conscious-unconscious, spirit-matter, masculine-feminine, reason-feeling, order-chaos, real-imaginary, etc.), the author in her work focuses on the process of internal transformation as a path to the ultimate goal of individuation - achieving the integrity of the personality and meeting the self.
The central part of the exhibition consists of a cycle of 33 graphics in the screen printing technique, inspired by motifs from the author's dreams. These visual entities follow the stages of the alchemical process of transformation and symbolically represent the path of individuation. The accompanying video work builds a multi-layered narrative through the dynamics of black-and-white and color images, rhythmic editing and sound composition.
Sretenović's multimedia work functions as a contemporary visual-sound ritual, creating a new, contemporary interpretation of a universal symbol - coniuctio oppositorum, and at the same time affirms an interdisciplinary approach in contemporary artistic practice.
