About the Play:
"Forgotten Shakespeare" is a unique stage piece that combines drama and Renaissance melodies performed by the early music ensemble "VisAntiqua".
This piece is created to shed light on different parts of Shakespeare's biographical and dramatic works, including famous scenes from "Othello", "Henry VI", "Richard III", "Henry VIII", "Hamlet", "Antony and Cleopatra", "Romeo and Juliet" and others. Through verses and sounds, the audience is transported to Renaissance London, to the period in which Shakespeare's first printed edition - the First Folio of 1623 - was created. Actors Hemings and Condell forever preserved Shakespeare's works from oblivion, and this act inspired the play dedicated to their importance.
