Terazije Fountain is a historic fountain located in the heart of Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. It is situated at Terazije Square, address: Terazijska česma, Terazije, Beograd 11000.
The fountain was built in 1860 in honor of the return to the throne of Serbian Prince Miloš Obrenović. This unique structure made of white stone has a four-sided design and is adorned with figures of lions, from whose mouths water flows. Important buildings surround the fountain, such as the famous 'Moscow' hotel, as well as many other historical and architectural sites.
Throughout its history, the Terazije Fountain was moved several times, but in 1975 it returned to its original location. Today it remains one of the central attractions of the city and a popular meeting place for tourists and locals alike.
The fountain symbolizes the historical and cultural heritage of Serbia and continues to attract people with its architectural beauty reminiscent of 19th-century European fountains. Here one can feel the spirit of the times and connect with the rich history of Belgrade.
