THE PROPOSAL
THE BEAR
Anton Pavlovič Čehov's one-act plays, "The Proposal" and "The Bear," bring us characters who, both tragic and comic at the same time, reveal the truth through play and humor. Despite their unawareness, they depict life moments full of love and conflict, where tragedy turns into a smile.
Through these simple yet deeply truthful stories, Čehov portrays subtle changes in characters, introducing us to situations in which they reveal aspects of their character they weren't even aware of. In their everyday dialogues, Čehov exposes a deeper truth about human nature, and director Stefan Sablić highlights these works through the prism of comedy, as Čehov desired.
