Sophocles, one of the greats of Greek tragedy alongside Aeschylus and Euripides, created over 130 works, of which only a few have survived. Among them stand out Ajax, Antigone, Oedipus Rex, Electra, The Women of Trachis, Philoctetes, and Oedipus at Colonus. The tragedy Oedipus Rex, from antiquity to today, has remained the most famous, and Aristotle described it as an example of a perfect tragedy in his work "Poetics".
