The Tin Drum is a fascinating depiction of the work of German expressionism in European modernity. This play brings the story of Bruckner's The Sickness of Youth, which follows young medical students. They are faced with challenges between the norms of bourgeois life, the feeling of being lost that youth brings, and the cynicism of the modern world. Through the drama, their youth turns into a path of self-destruction, creating an illusory world that hides the semblance of salvation.
