Waiting for the Rain
Waiting for the Rain is a performance, the result of six months of intensive work, that deals with the theme of ageism through six devised scenes. This piece portrays how older people suffer marginalization and indifference on a daily basis, exploring how social and institutional structures affect their status and dignity.
In this socially engaged piece, citizens of Novi Sad of different age groups, ranging from 17 to 79 years, are participating. They invite the audience to reconsider their attitudes towards older people and face the challenges of aging, emphasizing the importance of social responsibility and intergenerational solidarity. The play strongly advocates for action in the fight against age-based discrimination.
This play is part of the European project Age Against the Machine, supported by various institutions, including the European Commission and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia.
