OH SERBIA, THERE'S NOWHERE TO REST
In the late seventies and eighties, Yugoslav dramaturgy experienced a true renaissance. During this time, some of the most important works were created, including those by Dušan Jovanović, Slobodan Šnajder, and Goran Stefanovski. However, the contributions of female writers from that period such as Vesna Janković, Milica Novković, Deana Leskovar, and Zorica Jevremović are often overlooked. Their works, like "Mravinjak", "Stone for a Pillow", and "Pictures of Sorrowful Experiences", were performed on prestigious stages under the direction of Mira Trailović and with the participation of top actors.
In the light of renewing and celebrating cultural heritage, KPGT has decided to stage the masterpieces of these forgotten authors once again. This manifestation marks the return of the stunning female dramatic writing and highlights its significance within the Yugoslav and broader European theater context. The direction is signed by Vanja Vodeničarević, Ognjen Petković, and Ljubiša Ristić, with roles interpreted by a talented ensemble of forty members, encompassing all generations from nine-year-olds to experienced veterans.
