About the play: Joseph Stein's musical "Fiddler on the Roof" is based on Sholem Aleichem's story "Tevye the Dairyman." The plot is set in a fictional Jewish village in Tsarist Russia at the beginning of the 20th century, depicting Jewish tradition through a poignant and exciting narrative. The lyrics were written by Sheldon Harnick, while the music was created by Jerry Bock. Stefan Sablić is responsible for the adaptation.
