Founded in 1997 in Rome, the group has released over 15 albums and held thousands of concerts worldwide. Mixing elements of metal, noise, prog, electronics, ambient, and industrial, Zu has created a unique musical language that transcends genres. The list of the band's collaborations is endless. Among them are Mike Patton (Faith No More), Joe Lally (Fugazi), King Buzzo (The Melvins), David Tibet (Current 93), FM Einheit (Einstürzende Neubauten), and Damo Suzuki (Can). Their describes the group like this: 'With their ability to absorb and integrate an exciting diversity of musical styles, it's no surprise that Zu often sounds like a hundred bands in one, though the way they connect their wild sound puzzle is unique only to them.' The concert opens with Serbian electronic artist Kӣr, resident and program director of Drug§tore. Kӣr's electro-acoustic live set is a synthesis of drone, post-industrial, and Balkan folklore.
