Don Juan – the original French musical
From the creators who brought us the spectacular musical "Notre Dame de Paris" comes the exciting performance "Don Juan," based on the music and libretto of the renowned French composer Félix Gray. Premiered in 2003, this is an interesting adaptation of the classic story, which retains a beginning similar to Molière's version but develops in a different direction. Gray set the plot in a timeless setting, avoiding contemporary connotations.
In France and South Korea, this musical achieved exceptional success, while in Canada it was performed 200 times, attracting 350,000 viewers. 300,000 albums were sold, while the songs "Du plaisir" and "Les Femmes" dominated Canadian charts. Gilles Maheu was awarded as the best director, and the producers, Charles and Nicolas Talar, are known as significant independent music producers. The show set new standards in sales and popularity.
