Concert. Mt Fog

This American singer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer became Mt Fog in 2019, living a secluded life in a house without the internet. Her childhood, which she describes as Victorian, took place in a musically gifted family. She played the violin, but later, at the beginning of her university studies, she realized that her perspective on music was different from the strictly academic one. She then began exploring her voice as an instrument and soon joined a choir performing Balkan women's traditional music. Departing from classical music rules and experimenting with creating loops on her sister's old synthesizer paved the way for her to write her own compositions. Caroline B. describes the sound of Mt Fog as forest folktronica, and it is indeed the most accurate genre term. Her voice dominates simple melodies, sounding ethereal, magical, at times ominous, vulnerable, yet simultaneously powerful — as if it belongs to the forest, ocean, or earth. Caroline B. performed on stage with artists such as Anika and Tim Hecker, and her vibrant performance on KEXP remained memorable to listeners. Bandcamp Daily named her album 'Spells of Silence' the album of the day, while the 'Seattle Times' declared it the album of the year. In March 2023, Mt Fog performed for the first time as a trio, with Andy Sells (Afrocop, Select Level, FCS North) on drums and Casey Rosebridge (Swanderer, Crazy Eyes) on bass guitar. This incarnation of the band is soon embarking on a European tour and will perform in Belgrade's KC Grad on December 4. 'And if you find me, I will be singing.' The evening will be opened by Blaaž (блааӁъ) — a psychedelic rock band from St. Petersburg currently living and creating in Belgrade. They draw inspiration from the New York scene of the seventies, British noise sound of the nineties, and marginal cinema art.
