As part of the fifth edition of the European project Season of Film Classics, in which it has participated since the beginning, the Yugoslav Cinematheque has digitally restored the feature film "Traces of a Black Girl" (1972) directed by Zdravko Randić this year. The world premiere of the new copy will be held on December 28th at a free screening in the "Makavejev" hall, and on the same day the film will be available on the official YouTube channel of the Yugoslav Cinematheque. Let's recall that December 28th is the date of the first film screening in the world, in 1895 in Paris. This social drama and romance, based on the prose of Aleksandar Tišma and the screenplay of Živojin Pavlović and Dragoljub Ivkov, delivers a naturalistic story from the milieu of the working class and suburban poor, who are doomed to failure, but unlike the films of the Black Wave, "Traces of a Black Girl" avoids ideological criticism and the use of politics, focusing instead on the existential misery that will lead the uncorrupted individual to a tragic end.
