Telo postaje simulakrum, znak bez izvora – prisustvo bez suštine.

"Somnolent World" explores the border between the human and what arises as a result of the dehumanization of man and the consequences of the transhumanist achievements of modern civilization. The works problematize the intermediate space between the fragility and disappearance of the human body in the age of virtual and technological reality. Through the monumental figures, illuminated by artificial light, the unnatural drowsiness of the spirit is revealed. Somnolence here is not an ordinary physical weakness, but a pathological consequence of alienation, a kind of spiritual fatigue resulting from excessive stimulation and endless immersion in digital streams, as well as a reaction to the collective alienation from the body and its replacement by forms that function as a storehouse of information instead of a haven for the spirit.

The body becomes a simulacrum, a sign without a source - a presence without an essence. The pictures play with the vision of the observer, who is asked the question – is the human being represented or does it just bear its form? Fluid - fluorescent color alludes to generated simulacrums of artificial intelligence that largely creates some new forms of reality. In this reality, the human body is not much different from any other technological product. The representations in these works embody individuals who struggle with the truth about the fragility and insignificance of the body in a world where materiality loses its importance in front of virtual and synthetic layers of reality. With their external forms, they unequivocally speak of the human-like, however, the overall atmosphere and psychology point to elements of a modified reality reminiscent of scenes from dystopian literature and Sci-Fi cinematography. Transferring the center of human life from the analog, sensory, to the digital sphere, we come to the conclusion of man's alienation from reality, nature and other people. We live in virtual worlds as in a personal matrix, without the desire for interaction and change, without the possibility to wake up.
