American avant-garde metal band Kayo Dot is coming to Belgrade again, two years after their sold-out performance. This time they are presenting their latest album Every Rock, Every Half-Truth under Reason, which will be released on August 1.
Under the leadership of composer Toby Driver, Kayo Dot has been creating their unique and diverse sound for over twenty years. Their music combines the power of guitars, violins, jazz rhythms, saxophones, and holographic soundscapes. The band does not adhere to genre constraints but explores everything from psychedelic goth fusion to atonal black metal.
The band's members and collaborators include DIY punks and educated musicians from New York conservatories, contributing to their rich and unexpected musical experience. Their sound is at once grand and darkly American, without limitations.
The new album reunites the original lineup from the album Choirs of the Eye, in honor of its 20th anniversary, while simultaneously exploring new sonic horizons, conditioned by AI-generated art.
