This time the conversation will be about how photography shapes the image of a city and the many perspectives on it.
First, we will get acquainted with the works of researcher Colin Sterling, who focuses on the topic of mass photography and the concept of "photographic cliché." We will discuss whether Belgrade has such photo clichés and what is good and bad about them.
Then we will talk about author photography using examples of works from different countries (Sorin Onisor, László Moholy-Nagy, Xiao Yang, Charlie Koolhaas, Maxim Sher, and others). We will look at the approaches chosen by the authors and how the city appeared through their lenses.
And the third part of the meeting is a walk. Inspired by what we have seen, we will go together to photograph Belgrade and, in the end, discuss the image of the city that emerged in our eyes.
The meeting is conducted by:
Svetlana Kondratyeva -
