BIOGRAPHY OF BELGRADE - LECTURE BY ANNA ISLENTYEVA

It's hard to find a person who wouldn't agree that Belgrade is a lively city with its own magic and unique charm. A city that was born at the crossroads of worlds, witnessed key historical events, and served as a refuge for people of various religions and cultures. We will talk about the fate of this remarkable place located between the Sava and the Danube, about its residents, and the most vivid chapters of its biography in the lecture.

The meeting will be conducted by Anna Islentyeva — a specialist in Serbian history, graduate of Moscow State University's Faculty of History, and author of a blog about Belgrade and Serbia, anislent.rs

In the lecture, we will learn:

- The true age of the Serbian capital.

- Where to find traces of Celts in the modern city?

- Why do Catholics remember Belgrade every day?

- Was it safe to live in Belgrade in the 19th century?

- How did concrete rejuvenate and immortalize the city?
